J & G at The Book Tower: A Wedding Steeped in Detroit Elegance

Some venues already feel like a story waiting to be told, and The Book Tower in Detroit is absolutely one of them. With its restored Art Deco details, soaring architecture, and old-world glamour, it set the perfect stage for J & G’s sophisticated celebration. Our role was to help craft a visual narrative that felt modern, intentional, and deeply rooted in the beauty of the space.

The Invitation Suite

We began with their invitations — a sleek, refined suite that nodded to the building’s historic charm without ever feeling heavy. Clean typography, subtle texture, and a restrained color palette created a timeless look that set the tone for the weekend. The couple wanted something memorable yet understated, something their guests would feel before they even touched it. Every detail, from the envelope liner to the weight of the paper, was chosen with intention.

Day-Of Details That Elevated Every Moment

On the wedding day, we carried the invitation aesthetic into every touchpoint, ensuring the entire experience felt cohesive and elevated.

Custom Matchboxes

A playful, unexpected detail that guests absolutely loved. We designed custom matchboxes inspired by classic hotel-style keepsakes — the perfect blend of charm and sophistication.

Signature Cocktails Signage

For the bar, we created a clean, architectural display featuring their signature drinks. It layered beautifully into The Book Tower’s rich interior and added a modern gesture of personality.

Welcome Sign

This oversized linen sign greeted guests with soft texture and understated elegance. It introduced the wedding’s visual language the moment guests stepped inside.

Seating Chart

Designed to complement the dramatic setting, their seating chart balanced function and whimsy.

Menus + Linen Table Numbers

At each place setting, menus brought in subtle texture, tying together florals, tablescape, and venue. We paired them with linen table numbers that matched the bar signage adding soft texture to the room.

Custom Napkins

To round out the details, we designed custom napkins that added a personal touch to the reception. A small moment, but one that made the entire tablescape feel intentional and thoughtful.
